This month, we’ll be featuring a few of the men and women who will be facilitating education sessions at OGR’s 2020 Annual Conference & Solution Center in Asheville, NC at the Omni Grove Park Inn. Do you know what people are saying about your funeral home online? Check out the session below.

Session Description:
Reputation Management in Today’s Online World
Mon., April 20 | 9:55-10:55 AM | 1 CE
It’s no longer just TV, newspapers and word of mouth that can ruin a reputation today; online reviews, social media and blogs also have an impact. In this interactive session, explore steps to ensure you stay proactive in responding to any conversations taking place about your funeral home. You’ll come away from the session knowing how to:

  • Identify ways to build and manage your online reputation,
  • Determine the steps you need to take to help minimize the impact of “bad news” in a timely fashion, and
  • Establish a social media policy for your funeral home.

We sat down with Joe Weigel, the facilitator for this session, to learn a little more about him.

Name:  Joe Weigel

Organization: Weigel Strategic Marketing

Position: Owner

What I hope people will learn from my session: “Funeral directors will leave my session with a ten-step action plan to implement reputation management at their firm.”

A fun fact about me: “I attended my first funeral service convention in the Grove Park Inn twenty-six years ago (76th Annual CANA Convention).”
