This month, we’ll be featuring a few of the men and women who will be facilitating education sessions at OGR’s 2020 Annual Conference & Solution Center in Asheville, NC at the Omni Grove Park Inn. Having difficulty keeping good employees or motivating your current staff? Check out the session below.

Session Description:
Engaging Your Most Important Asset: Your Employees
Tues., April 21 | 8:00-9:00 AM | 1 CE
This enlightening session provides techniques for making your employees feel valued and a part of the team so that they will sing your praises in the community. You’ll leave the morning with:

  • Insight into the experience and desires of each generation in the workplace,
  • Four steps to employee engagement and steps for communicating vision and expectations,
  • Best practices for how and when to provide feedback, and
  • Tools for facilitating productive mentor/mentee relationships.

We sat down with Mary Andres Russell, the facilitator for this session, to learn a little more about her.

Name:  Mary Andres Russell

Organization: Matthews Aurora Funeral Solutions

Position: Director of Professional Development – East

What I hope people will learn from my session: Engaging Your Most Important Asset: Your Employees has a remarkable amount of insight regarding the motivation and idiosyncrasies of the various generations.  I would say the most eye opening moment is when we present four levels of employee engagement.  Many funeral home owners and managers see the gap between where their employees are and where they want them to be.  And everyone takes away ideas for how to motivate and ignite their employees.”

A fun fact about me: “I love to hike our national parks.”
